We have been involved in the food service industry nearly all of our lives! From the early days with our young son Dustin in Florida to our return to the Pickerington area in the 90’s and the start of the wholesale ice cream business.
In 1994, Tony ran across a pizza shop in Buckeye Lake that was closing. He gathered his recipes, cleaned, bought some equipment and reopened a week later. The first Friday, we sold $25.00 for the night. But word of mouth got around of great pizza and business soon picked up. We sold two years later when the ice cream company became just too demanding.
In the meantime, Dustin finished high school and then attended and graduated Bradford Culinary. In 2015, Tony ran across another little 700 sq. ft. pizza shop that was closed. Needless to say, the process was started all over again with a few tweaks to his recipes. We cleaned, painted and opened in a couple of weeks. Danielle Sabatino, our daughter in law not only was there from the start, she also has a master’s degree in finance from Otterbein and holds down a full time career. From the first days of opening until business picked up Tony and Danielle would sit on the deck eating popsicles and watching the cars go by.
Dustin came to manage the shop about four months later and is still there shuffling those pizzas. After the first month with thanks to social media (Pataskala Community and Pickerington Peeps) we were quickly outgrowing our new shop. Luckily, recently the building across the street from our original location became available with more seating and bigger kitchen. This time though it has taken more elbow grease, paint and equipment. We are also adding, along with our pizza, hard and soft ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, banana splits and more.
We are excited to be back and super excited about our new spot! We are also excited about our addition of hard and soft ice cream which is now available! Wait till you try our homemade hot fudge!
We are OPEN! During the Covid-19 crisis we will only offer our carry out business for now.
